For travel, the practical details of a thobe matter more than a general promise of comfort. Consider how long you will be sitting, where you will keep your belongings and what cleaning facilities you will have at your destination.
Check pockets before you pack
Our Moroccan thobes gandouras have one side pocket and one open slit for access to trouser pockets. The hooded djellaba has no pockets. Choose where to carry your phone, documents and wallet accordingly; do not assume every thobe has enclosed pockets on both sides.
Test seated comfort
Try the thobe while seated and reaching forward. Check the shoulders, knees, cuffs and neckline with your travel layers on. Make sure the hem is clear of your shoes when you stand, and consider how a hood sits against a seat back.
Pack a clean, dry garment, keeping footwear and toiletries separate. Fold around the garment’s shape without crushing a structured collar or catching embroidery on a zip. Hang it on arrival where practical.
Plan cleaning and changes
Follow the care label before ironing, steaming or washing at your destination. Do not assume all finishes tolerate the same treatment. If you need a specific fabric property, contact our team before you buy.
