A good thobe fit starts with the size guide for the garment you actually want to buy. Our Omani thobes, Moroccan gandouras and hooded djellabas do not all use the same labels. Start with your height, then check the other measurements and the product’s options.
1. Start with the product’s own size options
Many of our adult Omani thobes use numbered sizes from 52 to 62, although the available range varies by garment. Moroccan styles use lettered sizes with height guidance beside the size. Children’s thobes have their own numbered sizes and approximate age labels.
2. Check the adult thobe chart
The following is a text version of our published thobe size chart. It lets you compare the listed height, chest, shoulder and sleeve measurements without enlarging an image.

Use the chart together with the notes on your selected product. For help comparing the listed chest measurement with your own garment, ask our team before ordering. Height alone cannot establish every aspect of fit.
3. Check Moroccan styles separately
Our gandoura products list M for 5′5″–5′7″, L for 5′8″–5′9″, XL for 5′10″–5′11″ and XXL for 6′0″–6′3″. The hooded djellaba instead lists S for 5′5″–5′7″, M for 5′8″–5′10″, L for 5′11″–6′1″ and XL for 6′2″–6′4″. These are the ranges shown in the product options; always recheck the exact garment before purchase.
For example, a customer who is 6′2″ falls within the chart’s size 60 adult thobe range, the gandoura’s XXL range and the hooded djellaba’s XL range. Those different labels illustrate why transferring a size between styles can be misleading.
4. Consider how you will wear it
Think about the layers you normally wear underneath, the movement you need when sitting or walking, and your preferred sleeve and hem position. Compare with a garment that already fits you comfortably. If you fall between recommendations, contact us with your height, the product name and your fit question.
Buying for a child or choosing an abaya?
Use the options for that product rather than the adult men’s chart. Age labels on boys’ thobes are approximate. For an abaya, ask for fit advice specific to the style you are considering.
